Jake is interested in applying an interdisciplinary approach to understanding infectious disease transmission dynamics and evaluating and optimizing control programs within the context of health systems. Jake’s MA thesis was an evaluation of an insect screen distribution program to prevent house infestation by the local Chagas disease vector in rural Mayan villages in Yucatán, Mexico. Jake is now a student in the UF Department of Epidemiology’s PhD program, where he will focus on infectious disease epidemiology.

Jake also works for Dr. Pulliam as the Program Assistant for the International Clinics on Infectious Disease Dynamics and Data (ICI3D).
